Dore Club is a private members club situated on Townhead Road in the Sheffield suburban village of Dore. The club opens every night of the week, serving a full variety of drinks including some special cask ales. It is generally a quiet peaceful place where members go for a drink and some easy company. There is a snooker table and an annual tournament. There is also a Golf Society which makes trips to different venues and also has an annual handicap competition.
The premises are situated in what were originally farm buildings with a substantial car park. Following a recent extension and refurbishment it now has two large rooms, a beer cellar, two WCs and a general utility room. The main room contains the bar and the snooker table. The Back Room is multi-purpose and useful for the open days when wives, children or friends are welcome. Events are various and include a Car Show, a Beer Festival, Dore Gala Open Day, a real Bonfire night and even a Gin Festival amongst others. There is also a formal-dress dinner-night out, historically known as ‘Ladies Night’ to enjoy some good food and a bit of dancing.
